Man kills wife suspecting her of having extra-marital affair

Suspecting his wife of having an extra-marital affair, a man allegedly killed her and then surrendered before police at south-east Delhi's Govindpur area, police said today.
35-year-old Ram Kanwal allegedly strangulated his wife Pinky (28) to death with a stole while she was asleep in the wee hours of yesterday, a senior police officer said.
The couple lived in Govindpur and had three children. But the children were staying with Kanwal's mother.
After killing his wife, Kanwal surrendered himself before the police and confessed to the crime.
"He told police he suspected that Pinky was in a relationship with someone else for the past two years. He also said that they often had violent arguments because of Pinky's suspected extra-marital affair," the officer said.

A case of murder was registered and Ram Kanwal, who works as a labourer, was arrested immediately. Pinky's body was also sent for a postmortem examination and later handed over to her relatives, the official added.
