"The girl's parents were against her relationship with the youth, Manoj Kumar, and had fixed her marriage elsewhere," SHO of Shahpur police station A P Gautam said.
Manoj went to the girl's house last evening and asked her parents to marry the girl with him. But when they refused, Kumar committed suicide by shooting himself, the SHO said.
A pistol has been recovered and the body was sent for post mortem examination, Gautam said, adding a case has been registered and investigation was on.
