For his asertion that India will give a "befitting reply" to Pakistan, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today lauded Narendra Modi and said he supports the Prime Minister on the issue.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving befitting reply to Pakistan for its misadventure. We will extend support to him in this matter," Manjhi said on the sidelines of a function at Patna Zoo.
India today sent out a strong warning to Pakistan, saying it will have to bear an "unaffordable" cost if it persists with its "adventurism" as the Prime Minister asserted that aggression from across the border is being responded to with courage.
Manjhi's praise on Modi is exceptional as Congress and other opposition parties have strongly criticised the Prime Minister on his handling of the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
Senior JD(U) leader and Manjhi's predecessor Nitish Kumar had at a rally in Jind in Haryana fired a "56 inch chest" barb on Modi on infiltration from China and violation of ceasefire by Pakistan.
Kumar had said "during the recent visit of China's President Xi Jinping to India, the Chinese Army entered into Indian territory. We want to know where is the 56-inch chest now. What happened today when Chinese Army was entering our territory? Nothing is happening.
