The 79-year-old judge believes that it would be bad advertising for the show if she gained weight, reported Telegraph online.
"I have been large in my time. I know that if I were really quite big people would look at me and say, well, that's what happens if you eat cake. So I'm fairly disciplined, and it is very difficult," Berry said.
"I make myself have one piece of toast at breakfast - I would like three. When I'm doing Bake Off, I always have soup every day for my lunch because I have plenty of food around that. Every evening we all have supper together and I nearly always have two first courses," she added.
"He used to wear these T-shirts with a round neck and short sleeves and I said, 'You look much better in shirts', like his mother would. So he now always wears a shirt," she said.
The show's final brought in over 8 million viewers when it aired in October.
