Seeking to implement the 15-point programme for minorities ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due next year, Minorities Affairs Minister K Rahman Khan today asked government departments to match their progress reports with ground realities and publicise the efforts made so far.
He also asked the 16 implementing ministries and departments to ensure that the benefits of the programme reaches the "real targeted" population.
At a meeting of nodal officers of various ministries and departments of the central government, Khan said the authorities implementing Prime Minister's 15-point programme must monitor and ensure that the benefit of the programme reaches the "real targeted population of minorities", a statement by the ministry said here.
Khan said the progress reports from the implementation agencies should match the ground realities.
Seeking sincere efforts from the implementing agencies, the minister outlined points of cooperation, which include collection of segregated community- wise statistics under the programme, status of evaluation component of the schemes by implementing ministries, timely submission of the quarterly progress report by the ministries and feedback on efforts made for creating awareness and publicising the achievements.
