Mentally-challenged man attempting suicide at New Delhi Rly

A mentally-challenged man, who was allegedly trying to commit suicide by jumping on the tracks at New Delhi railway station, was rescued by a team of security personnel, police said today.
The man, identified as Deepak Yadav, is a native of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. He has been suffering from some mental illness for the past three years, said police.
Yesterday, the police received a call about a man trying to jump on the tracks at platform number 3 in New Delhi railway station and a team was rushed there, said police.
The police team saw the man hanging from the railing of a foot overbridge above platform 3 and intiated a rescue operation immediately, said a senior police official.
Police contacted the family of the youth, who informed them that he was suffering from mental illness, police added.
