"Mild tremors were felt in various districts of north Chhattisgarh, but there are no reports so far about any damage to property or casualties," Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management department K R Pisda told PTI.
According to M Gopal Rao, meteorologist at Meteorological Centre in Raipur, the low intensity aftershocks measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, were felt in northern parts of the state adjoining Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand at around 12.39 pm.
The tremors were felt in Surajpur, Korba, Bilaspur and Ambikapur districts, he added.
District Collectors have been instructed to carefully monitor the situation, Pisda said.
Moreover, instructions have also been given to conduct survey of dams, mines and other mega infrastructure to check if any damage has been caused to them to avoid any untoward incident, he added.
