Two held with Rs 50.40 lakh cash

Two persons were today arrested here with Rs 50.40 lakh in cash, police said.
On a tip off, Rajesh Jayantilal Thakkar (42) and Nimesh Kirit Thakkar (25), who were travelling on a motorcycle, were intercepted near CIDCO area in the wee hours and apprehended with Rs 50.40 lakh cash, DCP Arvind Chawria said.
The duo belonged to Rajkot in Gujarat, he said, adding, they could not give a satisfactory answer when grilled about the huge sum of money found in their possession.
"It can be a case of robbery but further investigations are on," the DCP added.
