Hisar in Haryana recorded the lowest temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal, a MeT department report said today.
Karnal and Narnaul recorded minimum of 7 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius, respectively, up to three degrees below the normal level while Ambala and Bhiwani settled at 11.9 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively, it said.
Union Territory Chandigarh recorded the minimum of 9.2 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
Notably, in past few days, the minimum temperatures at most of places in Punjab and Haryana had been recorded several degrees above the normal level and in some cases in excess of 10 degrees Celsius, giving respite from cold weather conditions to the people.
Yesterday, even the maximum temperature stayed below or equal to the normal level and ranged between 22-26 degrees Celsius at various places in Punjab and Haryana.
