Minor girl commits suicide, live-in partner arrested

A 16-year-old girl has allegedly committed suicide at Raghunathpuri area here, blaming her live-in partner in the suicide note for taking the extreme step, police said today.
The girl, a resident of Ramgarh in Sikar district, was living in a rented room at Raghunathpuri area here. She was in live-in relationship with Raju, a cook in a hotel, for past two to three years, the Jhotwara police said.
The girl ended her life by hanging self from a ceiling hook yesterday.
In the suicide note, the victim alleged that Raju used to beat her frequently, hence she took the extreme step, the police said.
Based on the suicide note, Raju (24) was arrested late last night under section 201 and 306 of IPC for destroying evidences and instigating her to commit suicide, the police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem, and police were waiting for her mother, who was reportedly living in Bengal, to hand over the body.
