Two brothers of a slain LeT commander were today detained by police when they were roaming around the venue of Independence Day celebrations here under suspicious circumstances.
"We have detained two persons who were roaming near the historical Chowgan Ground, the site for flag hoisting on August 15, under suspicious circumstances. They were dressed as women with one of them wearing a 'burqa', police said.
The detainees have been identified as Jamal Din and Abdul Karim, brothers of LeT Commander Habib Gujjar, and are being interrogated.
Gujjar was killed in an encounter in 2011.
A large quantity of prepared food, medicines, a number of mobile phoes were seized from them.
Din, who has a criminal case registered against him in 2010, was produced before a court today. He was missing for sometime and we were searching for him, police said.
Din had also helped Gujjar in the attack on the family members of a chowki officer in Kheswan in 2010.
