The girl was killed this morning after being hit by the truck on the national highway here while she was on her way to college, police said.
The truck driver managed to escape from the spot along with his vehicle, they said.
Angry over the incident, students and locals went on a rampage and set several vehicles on fire, police said.
Reportedly, the protestors also vandalised a police outpost after which police resorted to lathicharge to control the situation.
