A day after Narendra Modi's "motorcycle ride with a history-sheeter" remarks against Rahul Gandhi, Congress has slammed the BJP PM candidate and said instead he shared the dais here yesterday with an party MLA who has several cases pending against him.
Barmer district Congress vice president Yagyadutt Joshi today said when Modi was making such baseless allegations against Gandhi, 'history-sheeter' BJP MLA Kailash Choudhary, who has several cases pending against him, was present there.
Taking a jibe at Gandhi for mentioning 'Dhoom' movie for attacking BJP in his speech during a rally, Modi had yesterday said the Congress vice president remembered the Abhishek Bachchan-John Abraham starrer "because of a motorcycle ride he had with a history-sheeter..."
When asked, Additional SP of Barmer Mahesh Meena said about 13 criminal cases were registered against Choudhary since January 26, 2003. Even Choudhary who won the last Assembly poll against Col Sona Ram (the then congress candidate) now contesting LS poll on BJP ticket has mentioned about his cases in affidavit, according to the ASP.
Barmer Police's official website also carried Choudhary's details and pic on history-sheeters' list, he said.
BJP MLA Choudhary, however, denied of such history-sheet, and said, "It was during the Congress regime some cases were registered against me with mala fide intention and under political conspiracy".
