After rains and thunderstorms mercury dips in Himachal

Cold wave conditions revived in mid and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh as several areas of the state were lashed by thunderstorm, accompanied by rains causing sharp fall in mercury.
The maximum temperature dropped from 21.5 degree Celsius to 13.6 deg C in Shimla after the state capital experienced 14 mm of rains while the minimum temperature dipped to 6.0 deg C.
Una which was hottest with a high of 33 deg C yesterday recorded maximum temperature at 26.8 deg C while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 17.4 deg C and 18.4 deg C against 29.2 deg C and 28.2 deg C yesterday.
Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded maximum temperature at 4.0 deg C against 17 deg C yesterday after 18 mm of rains.
Kotkhai recorded 18mm of rains followed by Bhuntar 9 mm, Sundernagar 7mm, Nahan 6 mm and Salooni and Jubbal 5 mm.
The minimum temperatures dropped marginally in other parts of the state.
The local MeT office has warned of thunder squall and rains in higher hills during next four days.
However, the weather would remain dry in mid and lower hills tomorrow and rains are likely from April 15 onwards.
