Mohsin Khan to meet PCB chief tomorrow

Former Test batsman Mohsin Khan's is likely to get an important posting in the Pakistan Cricket Board after he had been called for a meeting tomorrow by the PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan.
Mohsin, also a former chief selector and head coach of the national team, will meet Shaharyar here tomorrow.
Though Shaharyar is also expected to meet with some other former players during his stay in Karachi but his meeting with Mohsin is being given significance considering the recent performances of the national team in Sri Lanka and given Mohsin's past track record as chief selector and head coach.
"Mohsin has always felt done in by the Board over the way he was removed as head coach in March 2012 during the tenure of Zaka Ashraf who brought in Australian Dav Whatmore to replace him," one well-placed source said.

Mohsin had led Pakistan to Test series wins over Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England and the only blemish on his tenure was an ODI series loss to England which forced Ashraf to decide against extending his contract as interim head coach.
Ironically, since Mohsin was removed as head coach, Pakistan has not won a Test series in two-and-half year's time.

"Mohsin could be given some assignment because it is no secret that Shaharyar is not satisfied with the dual role given to Moin Khan by his predecessor Najam Sethi," the source said.
Moin, also a former Test captain, presently works as manager of the national team and chief selector.

He is also due to meet Shaharyar to discuss his report on the Sri Lankan tour. The PCB chairman has indicated he is not comfortable with the dual roles given to some employees and also with having a 10-member support staff with the side.
Mohsin had applied for the head coach position during Sethi's tenure but was left disappointed when the Board announced Waqar Younis as their new coach ahead of the deadline given to candidates to submit their applications for different coaching positions.
