Random samples of various food products of different brands had been collected and sent to laboratories for tests, an official in the State Food Safety Commissioner Office said here today.
Further action on the issue would be taken only after getting the test results.
The samples collected were being tested in three state-run laboratories at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, the official said.
The popular brand of noodles has run into a controversy following Uttar Pradesh FSDA's finding monosodium glutamate and lead in excess of prescribed limit in samples of the snack, prompting several state governments to order tests.
Bakers Association of Kerala has also decided not to sell noodles of all varieties for the time being.
