MoUs worth Rs 2,452 cr signed in build-up to Rajasthan Summit

Agreements worth Rs 2,452 crore were signed here today between private companies and Rajasthan government to establish industrial units in the state as a build-up to the 'Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit' to be held in Jaipur on November 19-20.
"During the event, several MoUs were signed between private companies and the government to set up industrial units in the state involving a total investment of Rs 2,451.70 crore.
"The proposed industrial units are expected to generate approximately 7,053 jobs and several thousand more indirect employment opportunities," an official release said.
Pacts worth Rs 2 lakh crore will be signed as a build up to the summit in November," Rajasthan Industries Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar told reporters here.

A roadshow is also being organised at Delhi as part of a series of events being held across the country and abroad to promote investment opportunities in Rajasthan ahead of the summit.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who was present here for the MoU signing event, said: Rajasthan recognises the role industry plays in fostering all-round development - it creates jobs and generates revenue to enable social sector spends.

Some of the companies with which MoUs were signed today include Stuti Spinners, Sangam India Ltd, Shri Anant Syntex Ltd, Super Gold Suitings Pvt Ltd, Nitin Spinners, Rajasthan Textile Mills Ltd and M R Weaving Mills.

The theme of this year's Summit is 'Delivering Dreams, Sharing Prosperity'.
"The core idea is to create an economy that works for everyone, in which every citizen has the chance to realise their dreams. We must recognise we do not live in an economy, but in a society. We must promote economic development in a manner that equal benefits accrue to investors as well as to our citizens," Raje said.
Earlier, roadshows in Japan, Germany, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Indore, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ludhiana were organised.
