Mumbai South Central MP Rahul Shewale Tuesday announced an aid of Rs 1 lakh for the family of a 20-year-old 'govinda' who died during Dahi Handi celebrations in the city on September 3.

Shewale visited the deceased Kush Khandare's house in Dharavi in Central Mumbai and attended his funeral Tuesday.

He announced that he would pay Rs 1 lakh to the family from his personal funds.

Khandare suffered an epileptic attack when he climbed the first layer of a human pyramid in Dharavi to break Dahi Handi, according to police.

He was taken to Sion Hospital where doctors declared him dead before admission.

In separate incidents in the island city and suburbs, 150 Govindas suffered injuries yesterday.
