The Madhya Pradesh police has joined hands with their Uttar Pradesh counterparts and National Investigation Agency (NIA) in probing the case related to explosion during bomb-making in UP's Bijnor district in which five SIMI activists are allegedly involved.
Five activists of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), who had escaped from Khandwa jail in MP last year in October, were allegedly involved in the blast which took place at a house in Bijnor while allegedly making bombs in September.
"MP's Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), UP Special Task Force (STF) and NIA is in close contact (on the case). All the agencies are working in tandem. More information cannot be delved as it a sensitive matter," Director General of Police Surendra Singh told reporters here.
Five SIMI activists -- Aslam, Amzad, Zakir, Mehboob and Aijazuddin -- had slipped from the Khandwa jail on October 1, 2013.
To a query, Singh claimed that MP was among the states where cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot, dacoity and rape were too low.
He said that with cases of cyber crime on a rise, at least one officer in each district in the state will be trained to tackle such offences.
The DGP stressed the need for public welfare policing saying that officers should interact with people to listen to their problems instead of confining themselves to police stations.
To a query over the proposal of introducing police commissionerate system in Bhopal and Indore that was lying in cold storage for a long time, he said, it was a policy matter. "I don't want to comment over it," he said.
