Standing atop a hillock near Thanna Mandi, the 19th century shrine is dedicated to Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister for Haj & Auqaf and Horticulture A R Veeri, Minister for CA&PD Zulfkar, Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar, Political Adviser to the Chief Minister Amitabh Mattoo and Secretary to Chief Minister M H Malik.
After paying obeisance, the Imam and Khateeb of the shrine performed 'dastar bandi' of the Chief Minister.
Sayeed directed the agencies concerned to complete the work on Bait-ul-Zaireen and kitchen block so that these are handed over to Auqaf without any further delay.
He said he will also depute a team of senior officers to visit Shahdara Sharief for formulation of a comprehensive development plan.
