In a high-scoring four-day encounter, the Aditya Tare-led Mumbai drew first blood after posting 447 in the first innings. The Aditya Waghmode-led Baroda replied with a gutsy 397 in response but was not enough.
Abhishek Nayar's 89-run contribution, while coming in at No.8 also added to the Mumbai score.

Dhawal Kulkarni's fifer in the Baroda innings also helped Mumbai get those crucial points at the Reliance Stadium.
