Muthoot's CSR initiative extended to 3 more districts in Kerala

Company's CSR initiative in healthcare outreach mobile programme, 'Muthoot Snehasraya' has been extended to Thiruvananthapuram, Alapuzha and Kottayam

Muthoot Finance Ltd, India's largest gold loan company, today said it has extended its CSR initiative in healthcare outreach mobile programme, 'Muthoot Snehasraya' to three more districts in Kerala-- Thiruvananthapuram, Alapuzha and Kottayam.

The project encompasses a High Tech Mobile Ambulance laboratory which will help in prevention and early detection of kidney related diseases, diabetes and hyper tension ailments, a Muthoot press release here said.

The project has already organised about 40 camps in and around Ernakulam and covered more than 4000 people since its launch, the main objective of which is to educate about the diseases, its preventive measures and early detection.

George Alexander Muthoot, Managing director, Muthoot Finance Ltd said the Muthoot M George Foundation regularly receives numerous request by people below the age of 40 who are currently undergoing dialysis. The cost involved in the disease is huge from getting its donor match to the cost of kidney transplantation. Through this initiative the plan to reach out to deprived class of the society and spread awareness about this illness and contribute in saving lives of people, he said.

The Muthoot Snehasraya van is a fully equipped mobile lab which will travel to the rural areas of Kerala conducting free blood check up for the purpose of prevention and early detection of kidney ailments. It will hold exclusive camps whereby the blood sample of the people will be taken and tested for possible kidney related diseases.

At the end of the camp there would be an awareness session conducted which will provide information about the prevention and treatment of the disease. The mobile ambulance will travel across Kerala's gram panchayat's and educate people about the dreaded diseases.
