"Pendulam has an unconventional narrative pattern dwelling on the autocracy of time as the characters oscillate between real and surreal incidents. The way director Soukarjya has conceived the whole idea, it is just very very unconventional," the Rupkatha Noy actor told PTI here.
Explaining her words, the doe-eyed beautiful actress said, "The film talks about time travel. It is centred on an accident having enacted three times before the camera. It is very intriguing as the director plays with time and space."
"I don't know how the whole concept will turn up in the film. But going by my part in the story, which is pivotal to the other two plots. And it is interesting to see how my character seeks to drive away from reality faced with the situation," she said.
Referring to Soukarya as brilliant and very unconventional in thoughts, she said,." It is Interesting to explore that part of human nature and see how psychology comes to play.
Radhika, who had essayed the role of a woman troubled by her past in Rupkatha Noy, said the only similarity between the two roles is both were head strong female protagonists.
Told that she had acted in 12 films in 2013, Radhika said, "Is it that high. Well it is good to be busy. For me every film, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil or Bengali is equal," and she didn't subscribe to the thought of regional films more rich in content always.
"I am cast opposite Kunal Kapoor and we had a blast during shoot," she said.
Dividing time between stage and films, she would turn up in a Girish Karnad-directed play in the national capital very soon.
Pendulam doesn't have a linear narrative, where past-present, real-imaginary-perceived all take place at the same time but the audience will not lose track of," Soukarjya said.
The film, produced by Cozum Analytics has haunting scores by leading band frontmen including Anindyo Chatterjee of Chandrabindoo, Gourab Chatterjee of Lakhichhara and Mainak Bumpy Choudhury who also set the pace of music themed on time-space travel.
