A simulated beach attack, demolition of an oil rig, a helobatic display by Chetak and Sea King helicopters and the daredevilry of Marcos, the elite Marine Commando force of Navy, were some of the highlights of the show that was held for the first time on the river.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice-Admiral H C S Bisht inspected a Parade of Sails on the river.
The Navy Band from ENC enthralled the audience with lilting tunes while Beating the Retreat by the sail boats and the illumination thereon offered a visual treat.
Prakasam Barrage, Vijayawada city's icon, was also specially lit up, providing a spectacular backdrop to the ceremony.
