"The Youth National Conference (YNC) passed a unanimous resolution supporting the efforts of the party leadership in seeking an uninterrupted dialogue with Pakistan and stakeholders in Kashmir paving way for the just and acceptable resolution of the Kashmir issue," a spokesman of the party said.
He said the resolution was passed at the one-day youth orientation programme, conducted to deliberate on various current and political issues and also place historical facts and incidents in the right, fair and objective perspective.
Party provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani asked the party workers to reach out to the youth to ensure that "our youngsters are made aware of history in its right context in the face of sustained propaganda by divisive forces to distort history".
"Such programmes will go a long way in empowering the youth with facts and will in turn help in engaging with them in efforts to bring the state out of the present morass," he said.
"The youth has to play an important role in guiding the state out of the present atmosphere of hopelessness and despair.
"YNC will continue with such efforts and we are going to involve more youth across the length and breadth of the valley to evolve a consensus for the welfare of the state," he said.
Salman condemned what he called "anti-youth policy" of the state government and said "wanton arrests, indiscriminate harassment and imposition of Public Safety Act on the youth will further alienate them and compound the already grave situation in the valley".
