Referring to Omar's plan to create new administrative units at the block, niabat, tehsil and sub-divisional levels, senior NC leader Devender Singh Rana said, "Those who are trying to obstruct the process should be exposed as the party feels that they are working against the interests of the people of (J-K)".
Addressing a public meeting at Thanamandi in Rajouri district, Rana, the NC chief for Jammu region, said, "This is malicious propaganda and a sign of frustration as these elements are unnerved about yet another bold step (by the CM) towards taking the administration to the doorsteps of the people."
It may be recalled that Congress has demanded that the proposal to set up new administrative units in J-K be examined before any move at implementation.
A Cabinet sub-committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand is currently touring various districts to check the recommendations of the SS Bloria and Ganai commissions.
Rana slammed PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for having even gone to the extent of publicly eulogising Modi as being the only person who could take the right decisions on Kashmir.
Talking about the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, Rana asked the NC rank and file to get ready to ensure victory for themselves.
