dozen buffaloes in a fortnight due to mysterious disease, irate villagers today blocked the Rewari-Mahendergarh road, demanding free treatment and adequate compensation from the government.
The villagers, chanting anti-Hooda government slogans, places the carcass of buffaloes on the road at Dahina village, about 23 km from here.
The blockade, which lasted for about six hours, was lifted only after they got assurances from Brahmjit Singh, Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department that animals would be treated at the veterinary hospitals free of cost and financial assistance would be provided to those who have lost their cattle.
