NCP leader Awhad booked for violating poll code

NCP leader and Kalwa-Mumbra MLA Jitendra Awhad has been booked on charges of violating the model code of conduct, police said today.
According to police, Awhad and his followers took out a rally in the Mumbra township at around 4 pm on Sunday for which they had not taken any permission from the election department.
There were around 200 persons in the rally the police said and added that they have been booked under sections BP Act 37(3) and 135.
Further probe is on by local police.
