: Unaccounted cash of nearly Rs 70 lakh had been seized from two cars by police during checks carried out here in view of the coming Assembly elections.
The seizure was made when the police teams intercepted the cars and searched them Monday evening, police said.
Cash to the tune of Rs 60 lakh and Rs 9.97 lakh were recovered from the cars respectively, they said Tuesday.
The cash had been handed over to the Income Tax department for further inquiry.
