The much awaited assembly polls in Nepal are slated for November 19.
"The government will not compromise with any one in conducting the elections in a free, impartial and peaceful manner," said Khil Raj Regmi, Chairman of the interim government.
The government has continued all its efforts for making necessary preparations for the polls and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere, Regmi said while addressing a function organised here to launch a book 'Ethical Business Practices'.
Besides, he asked political parties, civil society members, voters and the business community to cooperate to make the elections a success.
Political stability is essential for the country's overall development and economic progress, he said.
Meanwhile, fringe parties in the 33-party alliance protesting against the elections, have asked clarification from their coordinator and CPN-UML chairman Mohan Vaidya over his remarks about forging alliance with the pro-monarchists in the pretext of "preserving national sovereignty."
The Maoist party has launched agitation to oppose the November elections asking Regmi either to resign from the post of the chief justice of the Supreme Court or from the post of the head of the government.
Matrika Yadav of CPN (Maoist), Pasang Sherpa of Social Democratic Party, Khagendra Makhim of Federal Democratic National Forum, Mani Thapa of Revolutionary Communist party, Buddha Raj Syantan of Adivasi Janajati party and Sita Ram Tamang of CPN (Unified) voiced their reservation over the proposed alliance by the CPN-Maoist with the monarchists.
