New born boy found dumped in fish box in market

A one-day-old baby boy was found dumped in a box in a fish market at Thisyanvilai, about 50 km from here, by a couple, police said.
The fish sellers were shocked to hear wails of a baby from one of the fish boxes yesterday and on inspection, found the infant wrapped in a shirt, they said.
They immediately informed police, who rescued the baby and admitted it to the government hospital.
