According to DD News Director General Archana Dutta, the channel is trying to provide richer content and better presentation along with "good" analysis.
"Our focus was on balanced coverage, on all aspects which are very easily understood. While others showed trends and results which kept on changing, our first results came two hours behind them so as to maintain credibility," she said.
The channel also aired exclusive interviews with several political leaders and made live telecasts of press conferences, she added.
"On social media as well, we were contentiously streaming the results and many tweeted their appreciation of our efforts," she said.
The changes have come with the public broadcaster looking to ramp up its TRP ratings even as the channel was hit by some recent faux pas which gave it a bad press.
