Nickelodeon announces 'Are you afraid of the dark?' revival cast

Nickelodeon has revealed the cast of Canadian anthology series "Are you afraid of the Dark?" revival.

"Are you afraid of the Dark?" is set around a group of teenagers who tell the terrifying tale of 'The Carnival Of Doom'. They meet once in a week in the woods to tell stories and call themselves the Midnight Society. To their nightmare, these stories start coming true.

According to Variety, the new members of the Midnight Society include Sam Ashe Arnold (Gavin), Miya Cech (Akiko), Tamara Smart (Louise), Jeremy Taylor (Graham), and Lyliana Wray (Rachel).

"Blindspotting" actor Rafael Casal will be playing Mr Tophat, The Carnival of Doom's ringmaster.

Created by D J MacHale and Ned Kandel, "Are you afraid of the Dark?" first aired on YTV and was later picked up by Nickelodeon between 1990 and 1996.

The series came back for two more seasons in 1999, with new writers and new show-runners.

The new limited series, is written by Ben David Grabinski and will premiere in October.

The series will be produced by ACE Entertainment and directed by Dean Israelite. It is executive produced by both Israelite and Grabinski.
