Nine pilgrims from Rajasthan were injured when their bus overturned on Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway today, police said.
The accident occurred at around 4 pm this evening, when the overspeeding bus carrying35 passengers from Rajasthan overturned near Fakot in the district, Tehri SSP Bimala Gunjyal said.
The driver of the bus was trying to give pass to a vehicle coming from Chamba when he lost control over the bus and met with the accident, she said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Narendranagar, where their condition is said to be stable, she said.
Investigations are on but overspeeding is said to be the reason behind the accident, Gunjyal said.
The driver of the vehicle is on the run, she added.
