Nitish asks JD(U) workers to foil BJP 'divide and rule' policy

Accusing the BJP of being an expert in "misinformation campaign", senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar today asked party workers to give a befitting reply to the saffron party's "divide and rule" policy in the coming Assembly elections.
Kumar asked the people, particularly in the minority-dominated areas, "to avoid division of votes so that BJP do not gain by dividing the society", while addressing JD(U) workers as part of his "Samparak Yatra".
Coming down hard on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar charged the Centre with meting "step motherly" treatment to Bihar.
"Narendra Modi had promised special category status to Bihar during his campaign, which has come out to be a complete lie," Kumar, who quit as Chief Minister after facing debacle in the general elections, said.

Instead the government has reduced funds under schemes like Indira Awas and MGNREGA, he said attacking the Centre.
Kumar reminded the NDA government of fulfilling all promises made to people of the region by providing land for a branch of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and opening of an Agriculture university in Kisanganj.
State ministers Vijay Chaudhary, Minorities Welfare minister Naushad Alam and Social Welfare minister Lesie Singh were present on the occasion.
