Kumar gave a cheque of Rupees one lakh to the Secretary in-charge of Chief Minister Relief Fund, Chanchal Kumar, for the purpose.
The CM also appealed to his ministerial colleagues and others to come forward and extend their helping hand and donate for earthquake victims, Chief Minister Office sources said.
Later, Kumar went to see relief materials which were being packed for sending to Nepal.
The quake had claimed 58 lives in Bihar.
The CM said the state government was extending all assistance to people coming from Nepal in the state.
The CM said he would review the progress of relief work for earthquake victims as well for citizens who were earlier affected by tropical storm on late April 21 night, squall in March and prolonged winter spell in February through video conferencing this evening.
He said Rs 1,764 crore has been distributed among farmers who had suffered damage to their produce due to prolonged winter spell in February and squall in March.
He stressed on construction of earthquake-proof building in Bihar whose areas fall in seismic zone 5 and zone 4.
Kumar highlighted example of Japan which witnesses frequent earthquakes due to which buildings swing from one side to another but do not crumble.
