"I really liked Sanjaya Baru's book and bought the rights. We will follow the book in our script. I don't have a political agenda and I am not against or in favour of any political party. I am not motivated by that. It is the story of 10 important years of Indian democracy and will make a great movie," Bohra told PTI.
In "The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh", Baru, his former media advisor, wrote about the "cautious equation" between the prime minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Singh's "often troubled" relations with his ministers.
However, the then PMO dismissed the book "as an attempt to misuse a privileged position and access to high office to gain credibility and to apparently exploit it for commercial gains. The commentary smacks of fiction and coloured views of the former advisor (i.E. Baru)".
Known for producing movies like "Gangs of Wasseypur" and "Shahid", Bohra said he is not sure whether the script will work as a film or a docu-feature.
"My team is looking into the script and we will soon know whether to make a feature film or a docu-feature. We are planning to bring the movie before 2018. The first six months will go into writing the script and then we will think about casting. The scale will also depend on the story," he said.
"Sanjaya Baru will not be involved because we will stick to the book. We will approach him if we need to clarify anything or are stuck in our research.
