No respite from heat for Delhi'ites

Hot conditions prevailed in the national capital with the mercury settling at 43 degrees Celsius mark in some parts of the city today.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered the official figure for the city, registered a maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar observatories recorded maximum temperatures of 42.8, 41.2, 42 and 43.8 degrees Celsius, respectively, said a MeT department official.
The minimum temperature rose to settle at 29 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal, the official said.
The humidity level oscillated between 52 and 23 per cent.

The MeT office has forecast overcast conditions with developments of thunder and lightning in some parts of the city.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 40 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature recorded was 28.1 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature settled at 44.4 degrees Celsius.
