Noteban a failure, people still suffering, says MP Congress

As part of 'Black Day' protests to mark the first anniversary of demonetisation, the Madhya Pradesh Congress today staged a protest here and alleged that the exercise has completely failed in its objectives.
Meanwhile, the ruling BJP also observed anti-black money day across the state by holding seminars on the benefits of demonetisation.
Congress workers took out a candle march to protest against demonetisation. The protest was organised across all the district headquarters of the state.
While addressing a protest organised at Roshanpura Square in Bhopal, former union minister Suresh Pachouri alleged that the note-ban has badly hit the common men, traders and farmers.

"It was said that the demonetisation is being done to curb black money, fake currency and control terrorism and naxalism. We ask has the black money ceased to exist or has terror activities stopped in the Kashmir valley?" he asked.
MP Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Arun Yadav alleged that note-ban is the biggest scam of the century.

"Note-ban was the biggest scam of the century. The country has suffered immensely due to the discontinuation of high value currency notes. People are still facing the bad impact of this decision," he alleged.
Yadav said that all the claims made by the prime minister are the bunch of lies.

"All the claims of prime minister were bunch of lies and turned out to be a jumla. There have been job cuts. The BJP-led government is busy making false promises and giving lectures. After demonetisation, more jawans have died in terrorist attacks and the country has witnessed more naxal attacks. On the other hand, the GDP growth has declined," he alleged.
On the occasion, Congress workers also released black balloons and sported black badges.
The BJP observed anti-black money day in the state and held torch rallies besides holding seminars about the benefits of demonetisation.
"BJP organised torch processions and organised symposiums in 833 mandals across all the districts of state," Bhopal Member of Parliament (MP) Alok Sanjar said.

Sanjar said, "This step (demonetisation) has helped crack down on black money. The country has moved on to a much cleaner, transparent and honest financial system besides the helped in curbing the terrorism and naxalism.
