Leading stock exchange NSE will use the venue of Delhi book fair beginning tomorrow to educate people about financial markets as also ways to avoid rumours while making investments.
The National Stock Exchange will set up a stall at the 20th Delhi Book Fair to be held from August 23-31.
"NSE officials will conduct interesting quiz shows at the NSE stall to engage with the visitors and provide information on key topics like financial planning and financial products," the exchange said in a statement.
"The officials will also interact with the visitors to make them aware about the precautions one should take while trading, such as avoiding market rumours and not getting lured by promises of exceptionally high returns," it added.
The exchange conducts various programmes across towns and cities in India to promote financial literacy.
As part of efforts to spread investor awareness it has tied up with various state school boards to provide basic financial education and has also partnered with 13 universities to offer courses related to financial markets.
"NSE is committed to improving the financial well-being of the people, and organises various investor awareness programmes," the exchange's Head for Business Development Ravi Varanasi said.
"An event like the Delhi Book Fair gives us the opportunity to interact closely with a large number of people and help them understand how to manage their savings in a more productive way and build a prosperous future," he added.
Earlier this year, NSE had also participated in the New Delhi World Book Fair.
