The National Students Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of Congress, today announced dissolution of its Goa unit committee citing its failure to undertake any activity since it was formed last year.
NSUI National General Secretary Manthan Pathak told reporters that the committee led by state president Gitesh Khandekar has been dissolved.
"The committee had been dormant since the last one year which has forced us to dissolve it," said Pathak, adding that the decision was approved by Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.
The panel headed by Khandekar was elected in February last year.
Pathak said the NSUI will conduct a membership drive in Goa and the new state-level president would be in place by June this year.
