According to a press release issued by the power producer, the company is poised to take up 4,000 MW Pudimadaka super thermal power project near Anakapalli and a 1000 MW solar power projects in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, while a 4000 MW super thermal power project will be set up in Telangana.
"Out of the 1,000 MW (solar power), implementation of the first phase of 250 MW of solar power projects would be taken up using domestically manufactured PV modules and cells, for which NIT has already been issued. Balance 750 MW shall be implemented through international competitive bidding," NTPC said.
The Telangana government has identified the land required for the project and the NTPC board has recently approved the feasibility report for the project, it added.
NTPC Raising Day was celebrated at Southern Region Headquarters in Secunderabad today, the statement said.
