The Odisha government Friday approved the appointment of 600 physicians to cope up with the large scale vacancy of doctors in state run hospitals, official sources said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the fresh appointment of 600 doctors on contact basis a day after appoining 938 doctors on Thursday, an official statement from the chief minister's office said.
With the fresh approval, the state government is all set to appoint as many as 1,538 new doctors in all district headquarters hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs).
Congratulating the newly appointed doctors, Patnaik exhorted them to sincerely and diligently discharge their duties and provide better healthcare to people.
