Odisha health dept seeks cooperation from otr depts for

With more cases of dengue reported from industrial areas in Odisha, the Health and Family Welfare department today sought active cooperation from industries, steel and mines, home and housing and urban development departments to tackle the vector-borne disease.
The decision to seek cooperation from other departments was taken at a review meeting chaired by Health and Family Welfare Secretary Arati Ahuja.
Though two persons have succumbed to dengue in the state by August end, as many as 932 persons have tested positive to dengue virus out of 3952 blood samples tested in the state, Ahuja said quoting department's report.
Of the 932 cases of dengue, 400 cases were reported from Jajpur district with majority reported from Kalinga Nagar industrial estate area, the report said.

"A special medical team have rushed to Kalinga Nagar area to take measures for checking spread of the dengue," Ahuja said adding that a close watch is in place in other industrial areas of Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh and other districts.
Health and Family Welfare minister Atanu S Nayak said that elaborate arrangement has been made for the treatment of dengue patients at S C B Medical College Hospital in Cuttack where 177 patients were being treated. "Six dengue pateints are in the ICU," the minister said.
Nayak said the state government has already issued direction for deployment of more number of doctors, nurses and para-medical staff at SCB Medical College Hospital and other places for treatment of dengue cases. Free of cost blood test facility is also available at different governemnt hospitals, the minister said.
