As soon as the House assembled for the day at 10.30 AM, Leader of the Opposition Narasingh Mishra of Congress demanded the Chief Minister's resignation, referring to the Supreme Court rejecting state government's appeal against the Orissa High Court verdict exonerating former DGP Prakash Mishra in the vigilance case.
"The Chief Minister has no moral right to continue after the Supreme Court judgement," Mishra said.
However, Pujari did not allow Congress members to discuss on the issue during the Question Hour.
Later members of the ruling BJD, too, rushed into the Well protesting Central "apathy towards Odisha."
After his appeal to members to return to their seats, the Speaker adjourned the House till 12.30 PM.
The ruling party members later staged a sit-in protest near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Assembly premises protesting Centre's "negligence towards the state.
