Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood today, an IMD bulletin said.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric level and the system would become more marked during the next 24 hours, it said.
Under its influence, heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over coastal Odisha during the next 48 hours while rain and thundershower would occur at many places in the state, it said.
Sea condition will be rough, it said.
The weather office asked fishermen not to venture into the sea.
