The results were based on airplay on TV and radio and in venues including pubs, clubs, gyms and shops.
"I'm absolutely delighted I've won this award. I'd like to thank all the writers and producers on all the records that I've done, they've been incredible, of course the TV channels, the radio stations, the pubs, the clubs, the bingo halls, whoever has played my songs.
In another category, his track 'Troublemaker' was the ninth most played pop track of the year with Daft Punk's hit 'Get Lucky' topping that chart followed by Robin Thicke's 'Blurred lines' and 'Mirrors' by Justin Timberlake.
