Police said today the 19-year old girl was forcibly whisked away by four or five men to an under-construction multi-storied building at posh Golf Garden area in Tollygunj last night and allegedly brutalised.
Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing her screams and rescued her. The offenders, however, managed to flee, the police said.
The woman who was in critical physical condition was first taken government-run M R Bangur Hospital and later to Chittaranjan Hospital where a medical test was done on her.
The report of the test was awaited, the police said.
