The accused, identified as Amrik Singh, allegedly used to arrange Indian passports for his clients for a hefty fee of Rs 5 lakh, said police.
"Singh came to Delhi in 1993 and started helping Afghan refugees to obtain Indian passports on forged identification documents. Later, he also used to arrange VISAs for them," DCP (IGI Airport) DK Gupta said.
"In May 2009, Singh and his associates were arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell and several passports and incriminating documents were purportedly seized from him," Gupta said.
Amrik Singh was found declared a proclaimed offender in four cases registered at IGI Airport police station here, police added.
