Laeeq (26) and his brother Abrar (23) were buried in a 20-feet borewell when its mud wall caved in while they were cleaning it last evening, Surendra Bahadur Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandausi said.
Both the brothers were taken out during the rescue operation which continued till late last night. However, Laeeq was dead by the time, he said.
Under the farmer insurance scheme, a financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh would be given to Laeeq's kin, SDM said.
